Volunteer Opportunities
The success of Northwest Medical Center is due in part to the hard work and dedication of its volunteers. We have more than 200 volunteers that work in almost every area of the hospital. Both our Adult Volunteer Program and Junior Volunteer Program play a vital role in meeting the non-medical needs of our patients.
In addition to the personal rewards one receives from volunteer work, NMC offers volunteers:
- Free meal on the day you volunteer
- Bi-annual Luncheons
- Free membership in our Active Advantage program (after 100 hours of volunteering)
Description of Volunteer Positions
Courtesy Cart Driver
Shuttles patients and employees around campus (valid drivers license required)
Messenger
Transports non-critical patients via wheelchair
Errands in main hospital
Patient Care
Keep patients company
Offer patients food and drink
Waiting Rooms
Resource for patients and families
Liaison between staff, patients and families
Information Desks
Resource for visitors and patients
Liaison between staff, patients and families
Escort visitors and patients to their destination
Clerical
General clerical duties such as filing, typing, receptionist
Gift Shop
General Gift Shop duties
Emergency/Urgent Care
Keep patients company
Help restock the patient rooms
Run errands for ER staff
